Michael L. Curtis has worked continuously and full-time in the real estate industry for nearly 35 years. After purchasing his first investment home at the age of 18, Mr. Curtis decided that a career in Real Estate was the path for him. In 1983 he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Real Estate and postgraduate studies in Economics. While attending ASU, Mike was selected as the Outstanding Appraisal Student of the Year and completed course work offered by the prestigious Appraisal Institute. Immediately after graduating, Mike was hired as an appraiser and underwriter by a national mortgage-banking firm owned by Metropolitan Life and was soon promoted to Senior Loan Officer and later to Assistant Vice President. He has experience in nearly every aspect of real estate having worked many years in commercial real estate lending, property management and property brokerage. Michael was appointed as a “Special Real Estate Commissioner” by the Superior Court of Arizona to handle court ordered sales in 2008. He has also served as a Hearing Officer on tax appeal cases for the Maricopa County Board of Equalization. He has appeared in court as an expert witness concerning real estate matters and his real estate Opinions of Value have been readily accepted by the courts and the IRS. He currently holds a Real Estate Broker’s license and for many years, held a Mortgage Broker’s license. Michael is a member of the Phoenix Board of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors.
